Do you know the Social Classes of the MODERN Filipinos?????
15
SOCIAL CLASSES OF THE MODERN FILIPINOS Based on income or wealth: Rich (about 10% of the population) Middle Class (about 20%) Lower or Poor Class (about 70%) RICH average POOR
16
Why were there different classes of early Filipinos? The different classes were formed mostly because of the wealth. How rich or poor the people then were and how many properties they owned. If a person back then was rich and owned many properties, he or she would most likely be in the Maharlika class. And if the person back then was poor or average, he or she would most likely be considered an alipin or timawa.
17
Social classes are formed by people in a society that have the same status.
18
How were the early classes of Filipinos different from today? The early Filipinos treat people differently by social classes. Modern Filipinos do not have this difference. Rich and middle class Filipinos all enjoy the same things (watching movies, eating at restaurants, etc.)
19
Modern Filipinos do not have slaves or the alipin class anymore because we live in a free country Even if modern Filipinos still have social classes because of differences in wealth, everyone is free to choose their jobs, properties and get married without the permission of anyone
