1 Child Labor: Stolen Childhoods, Stolen Dreams Web Quest Created By: Shelsea Garrett

2 Are children living in today’s world safe from the harsh realities of child labor? When we think of child labor, we think of history. Children being forced to work in terrible conditions, for extremely long hours and for very little pay. Your job throughout this web quest is to discover if this is really a piece of history, or does this cruelty still exist in today’s society?

3 Child Labor Task In groups, you will be creating a newspaper informing and rallying the public about the issues of child labor. The newspaper must look authentic (title, photos, different articles, etc.) The front page will be worked on as a group. Each person in your group will then choose a particular form of child labor and create a page to submit for the paper. Be creative in your ideas. The forms of child labor are as follows: Child SlaveryFactory Children Children in AgricultureChild Soldiers As you complete your research keep the following questions in mind: Why are you having to work? What are your job conditions? How much do you get paid? Take us through a typical day in your life. Do you get to attend any form of school? What do you do when you are not working? Are there any laws to prevent this type of work in the modern world?
