2. Role – Creative producer The role of producer requires skills in organization, time keeping and overall being able to get things done. I have over the course of this year been pushing my team from shoot to shoot both in our studies and industry, Approaching different clients and working to a their brief. My latest client is a current producer in industry which is fantastic for me as I have the opportunity to both learn and show what I know to him. We have already spoken about the next step once we have finished our current job and how I will be moving on to get my foot well and truly in industry. I have also been developing my other skills with camera work and lighting on the side to help broaden my skill set. I have also played my hand at directing in my projecs mostly as 1 st AD but am planning on taking over the role on future projects as full Director due to my confidence boost in the area.

4. Showreel I am currently working on a number of different projects to use in my showreel so as of yet am yet to make a cut for it. However the projects that I am currently working on are being collected into one file with shots listed that I want for my showreel. The team I am working with have been working hard and even set up our own production company Blacksmith Films which we plan to continue after graduation. The point of Blacksmith Films was to give us a platform to approach different companies/ clients and provide them with a service which we would then be able to use the footage in our showreels. This would give us plenty of extra work/ experience and footage to help us in he future whilst also adding variety to our showreels.

7. Website – Opening front page Here is my opening front page to my website. It is currently underworks and therefore not been linked to my other social networks. I plan to use this as my full online portfolio for employers to look at.

8. Main page - website The planned layout of the website will have my main page first show my current projects which will have their own pages when completed. Then the site will show my full online portfolio with each film/ project having its own page with video player and a short written piece describing the work and what it was for.

9. Strengths and Weaknesses Strengths: Time keeping Organisation Networking Team player Driven Forward thinking My strengths come from an ability for always wanting more. I know what I am doing and where I am going. I know what needs to be done to get me there and understand who will be an aid to me achieving the success I want. Weaknesses: Editing Sound recording Ambition My weaknesses come from a practical side of things, I have basic editing and sound recording ability which I know needs to be improved over time. Also I believe that sometimes I can be overly ambitious in the projects I wish to do and therefore lose a great deal of motivation when they fail. This is something that I believe most creatives deal with and I am sure will be an on going lesson from now till the end of my career

10. Research My research of my chosen industry falls to me following other creative producers and directors similar to the field. I Have made contact with a few such people and spoken to them about how they got to where they are today and what needs to be done to get there. I have great network of film makers through my Instagram account where we are in contact most of the time about the productions we are working on and the problems that we face. My Instagram is the focus of my networking hub at the moment as I seem to have gained some traction with other users to the point where I have been offered jobs directly though the social platform. As stated before I am currently working for a producer and plan to learn lots from him as well as prove to him my ability in the film making field.

11. Plan My plan for the immediate future is to finish the set of projects I am currently working on whilst also finishing my website and developing a logo myself to use as branding when it comes to my work individually. I will also be continuing to work with and progress the Blacksmith Films company whilst developing my own brand which will give me two gates of employment effectively. I plan to have my logos and full website ready to launch by June so I can transition from university into industry as smoothly as possible.
