7 Planning Approach – Regional participatory climate risk and environmental assessments – Villages will prioritize investments using toolkit with best practices (PRAs by CESVI) – Ensuring investments selected most appropriate to address climate and environmental risks – Rural households can assume responsibility for sustaining their livelihoods in financially and environmentally sound ways

Rural Production and Land Resource Management Investments Project Financing $ 8.11m Beneficiary Contributions$ 2.03m Total$10.14m Disbursed as small grants to groups of farmers and resource user groups and associations STATUS: Selection process of the targeted jamoats completed. Inception meetings at district, jamoat and community level is over. CESVI was selected to conduct Community-based Climate Change Appraisals.

9 Sub-component 1.1. Sustainable village-based rural production and land resource management – Supports small grants to groups of households for investments in farm production, land resource management and small-scale infrastructure – Investments identified through a participatory planning process that includes climate change appraisals, and based on best practices in sustainable land management and agriculture Facilitating Organizations: -Consulting Engineering Services -Latif

10 Sub-component 1.2. Larger-scale initiatives in sustainable community land management – Addressing resource management beyond the village scale with grants to groups or associations of resource users for: Sustainable community pasture management On-farm water management in lowland areas  Status:  1.2.1– Potential Water User Associations selected. Two Water Management Plans prepared and the process of support is initiated.  1.2.2 - Selection process of the first 2 pilot jamoats completed and agreed. Drafts of Pasture Management Plans submitted to IG for review. Support of the first two Plans is expected by the end of December

Training, analysis, dissemination and networking Status: – Facilitating Organizations selected for lowland and upland areas. Inception meetings at district, jamoat and community levels are in progress.

13 Component 3. Project Management and Coordination Project Financing $2.00m – Operations of the Implementation Group within CEP to carry out project management functions including procurement, financial management, coordination, liaison, technical assistance, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.

14 Key Project Indicators and Expected Results – Number of households participating in farm production and land resource management will reach 21,000 – Land users adopting SLM practices will reach 12,000 – Area in hectares covered by effective agricultural and and water management and climate resilience practices will be at least 30, 000ha – Number of direct beneficiaries will reach 126,000 – Percentage of female beneficiaries will be at least 40%
