Launched Arogya Sakhi model, in health insurance and doorstep health education and services Development 1998 Entrepreneurship 2006 - 2012 Scaling up Women Entrepreneurship 2012-15 Added 1000 Clean energy women entrepreneurs with USAID support in Maharashtra and Bihar. Leveraged over $ 1 million for scaling up the model across health, agriculture, water, sanitation and clean energy. Evolution

6 Water Conservation – Impact 1.Reached out information and technology on water and soil conservation to over 2500 farmers. 2.Directly benefitted over 575 farmers across 9 villages 3.Increased crop yield & production through use of sprinkler sets, pumps and linkage to government subsidies 4.Increased land under irrigation by over 105 farmers through building water recharge pits 5.Developed mini watershed leading to I ncrease in water table. Farmers participate in the village PRA to study about the resources and need Water Recharge Pit

7 Water Purification Established WPU at the village level to provide access to safe and purified drinking water to the underserved communities. The WPU is operated by a local village entrepreneur (identified by SSP) Each WPU capacity: 1000LT/hour Household covered : 500Hhs Low purchase cost: INR 1.00 per litre on home delivery INR 0.40 per litre on purchase at the unit A fully automated technology, minimal requirement of staff to operate Water Purification Plant (WPU) Outreach and Impact SSP has installed 6 such plants across Latur, Ahmednagar, Newasa, Osmanabad, Solapur districts (Maharashtra) and Muzaffarpur (Bihar) Provided direct access to safe and purified water to over 6000 Households Awareness on safe drinking water reached out to 30,000 households across the communities.

Entrepreneurship Education - Impact Empowered 3900 rural women as entrepreneurs since 2010. Over 1000 women trained as Clean energy Entrepreneurs Increased average income INR 3,000 - 5000 in the households SSP has been awarded MKSP and SVEP programs under National Rural Livelihoods Mission (NRLM) for Osmanabad and Solapur districts, Maharashtra With higher income, increased decision making in household and agriculture activities Initiated businesses/ enterprises mostly around sectors of Clean energy, water & sanitation, health, retail, catering, vegetable sale, beauty parlours, detregent products and snacks
