The Innovation week’s background The two geographic Areas targeted by the R2I call 2012 in the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) countries are: Eastern Partnership: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Ukraine Mediterranean Partner: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Palestinian-administered Areas, Syria, Tunisia. The focus: one of the Horizon 2020 societal challenges

The R2I projects objectives  To strengthen cooperation between research and business actors in EU and ENP countries  To enhance the innovation capacity & innovation performance  To improve knowledge transfer and innovation support services through a comprehensive trans-national cooperation.  To overcome innovation barriers between R & I with effective knowledge transfer methods  To increase the potential of STI and to contribute to the definition of bi-regional programmes on innovation  To foster mutually beneficial public-private-partnerships through the market uptake of research results.

The R2I projects actions Setting up some thematic directories: stakeholders / research competences Development of roadmaps for advancement in the targeted societal challenges and R&I including policy recommendations Twinning activities among EU and EaP/NCP partners Networking activities: brokerages at local and international level Training activities: technology transfer, innovation issues, scientific themes Establishing innovation vouchers/ action for the implementation of innovations Organization of international events with scientific focus Clustering and networking among projects
