4. The Celts The Celts invaded England in about 500 B.C. They arrived from the center of Europe by boats. They were warrios and farmers, they lived in villages and their houses were round and the roofs were made of straw. The Celts used iron weapons and tools. Their art is famous still today and their style is based on continous lines and knots. There is a lot of Celtic Art in Scotland and Ireland. Invasions

The Romans returned to Britain in 43AD and the country became a part of the Roman Empire.They stayed 400 years.They left the country to defend their home territories. In 1533 Henry quarrelled with the Pope because the Pope refused to let him divorce his wife. and founded the Church of England with himself as head.
