3 Vasco DaGama Vasco DaGama was a Portuguese explorer who discovered an ocean route from portugal to the east (1460-1524) Started his journey from Lisbon, Portugal, on July 8, 1497, heading to the East.

4 Christopher Columbus Was an explorer, navigator, and colonizer, born in the Republic of Genoa, in what is today northwestern Italy. Under the Auspices of the Catholic Monarchs of Spain, he completed four voyages across the Atlantic Ocean that led to general European awareness of the American continents. 5 Ferdinand Magellan Was a Portuguese explorer. He was born in a still disputed location in northern Portugal, and served King Charles I of Spain in search of a westward route to the "Spice Islands.“ Magellan's expedition of 1519–1522 became the first expedition to sail from the Atlantic Ocean into the Pacific Ocean (then named "peaceful sea" by Magellan; the passage being made via the Strait of Magellan), and the first to cross the Pacific.

7 James Cook Was a British explorer, navigator, cartographer, and captain in the Royal Navy. Cook made detailed maps of Newfoundland prior to making three voyages to the Pacific Ocean, during which he achieved the first recorded European contact with the eastern coastline of Australia and the Hawaiian Islands, and the first recorded circumnavigation of New Zealand. 9 Samuel De Champlain Born on or before August 13, 1574 – December 25, 1635. "The Father of New France", was a French navigator, cartographer, draughtsman, soldier, explorer, geographer, ethnologist, diplomat, and chronicler. He founded New France and Quebec City on July 3, 1608. He is important to Canadian history because he made the first accurate map of the coast and he helped establish the settlements.

13 How did improved technology encourage European Exploration? The four major factors that encouraged European exploration during the 1400s-1500s were that their ships had improved by making smaller boats and they went faster. Also, they started using triangular sails to change the wind current. Later on they discovered the compass and astrolabes to navigate through the Atlantic. Later on, Claudius Ptolemaeus had mapped out the world. That really encouraged the Europeans to set sail.

16 Copernicus - astronomer who formulated a heliocentric model of the universe which placed the Sun, rather than the Earth, at the center. Galileo - His achievements include improvements to the telescope and consequent astronomical observations and support for Copernicanism. Johannes Kepler - A key figure in the 17th century scientific revolution, he is best known for his eponymous laws of planetary motion. Sir Isaac Newton - His book Philosophae Naturalis Principia Mathematica, first published in 1687, laid the foundations for most of classical mechanics.

18 The English Revolution The English Revolution took place in (1689) James II was expelled and the sovereignty conferred on William and Mary. Also called Bloodless Revolution, Glorious Revolution.

19 The U.S. Revolution The U.S. got aggravated about the new tax’s and the crude treatment, and rage war against England. The U.S. won, and are now known as the United States Of America.
