IMPACT SAMR Cover Sheet Task OverviewLearning Objective(s)Suggested Technology Students will write their own word problem, use Educreations to display their work, post their project to a blog on Blackboard, then critique the projects of other groups on Blackboard. To create a real-world situation using a system of equations. To solve systems of equations by adding and subtracting to eliminate a variable. To solve systems in more than one way. iPads Desmos app Safari Educreations app BlackBoard Students will write their own word problem, use Power Point to display their work and submit the project via Blackboard. To create a real-world situation using a system of equations. To solve systems of equations by adding and subtracting to eliminate a variable. To solve systems in more than one way. Laptop/Desktop computer Desmos.com Firefox (or other browser) Power Point BlackBoard Students will use the iPads to scan QR codes that are placed in various locations throughout the library, classroom, or school. The QR codes are linked to word problems that the students must solve. To solve systems of equations by adding and subtracting to eliminate a variable. To understand that systems can be solved in more than one way. Identify the different types of solutions when solving systems iPads I-nigma app (or other QR scanner) Desmos app Students will use the Desmos App on the iPads to check solutions to the system of equations that they solved by the elimination method. To solve systems of equations by adding and subtracting to eliminate a variable. To understand that systems can be solved in more than one way. Identify the different types of solutions when solving systems iPads Desmos app AREI.C.5Prove that, given a system of two equations in two variables, replacing one equation by the sum of that equation and a multiple of the other produces a system with the same solutions. AREI.C.6Solve systems of linear equations exactly and approximately (e.g., with graphs), focusing on pairs of linear equations in two varia bles. Graphing to Check Solutions to Systems of Equations 1.Get into groups of 3. You will need the 6-3 Pearson Practice sheet, loose leaf paper, and an iPad. 2.Using the elimination method, solve the problems on the 6-3 Pearson Practice sheet #1- 9, 19 -30. 3. After you find the solution to each system using elimination, open the Desmos App on the iPad and graph the system. Use the solution found to verify that your answer was indeed correct. Use the Desmos App on the iPads to check solutions to the system of equations that is solved by the elimination method. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): - To solve systems of equations by adding and subtracting to eliminate a variable. - To understand that systems can be solved in more than one way. - Identify the different types of solutions when solving systems. S SUBSTITUTION Technology acts a direct substitute, with no functional improvement

QR Code Scavenger Hunt 1.Get into groups of 3 or 4. You will need a QR code Scavenger Hunt Answer Sheet and an iPad. 2.7 QR codes are randomly located throughout the library/classroom. Once you find a QR code, scan it. 3.Solve each problem that displays on the screen. Show all work on the answer sheet and make sure to box your answers. 4.After solving each problem, use the Desmos app to check your answers. Use iPads to scan QR codes that are placed in various locations throughout the library, classroom, or school. The QR codes are linked to word problems to solve. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): - To solve systems of equations by adding and subtracting to eliminate a variable. - To understand that systems can be solved in more than one way. - Identify the different types of solutions when solving systems. A AUGMENTATION Technology acts as a direct tool for substitution with some functional improvement.

Create Your Own Word Probs with PowerPoint 1.Once your topic has been randomly drawn, start brainstorming ideas for a word problem. You can use an internet browser to research the facts needed for your problem. Topic________________________________________________ 2.Write your word problem and solve it to ensure that it does have a solution. Use the Screen planner sheet provided to make a rough draft for your screens. Do not lose this paper, because it will be turned in and graded. 3.Use www.desmos.com to graph your data. You may have to adjust the viewing window so the intersection shows. Once the image on your screen is appropriate to display your data, use the snipping tool on the computer to screenshot your graph. You will need this graph for your presentation so save it to the desktop.www.desmos.com 4.You will need to display 5 screens which meet the following criteria: Screen 1 – Word Problem, Screen 2 – Equations, Screen 3 – Graph, Screen 4 – Answer, Screen 5 – Credits (group number and sources used…do not list your individual names on this screen) Save your project as, group__ (fill in the blank with your assigned group number) 5.Upon completion of your project, have one member in your group log on to Blackboard. Go to my Blackboard site (search for Brandi Sharpton) and click on Assignment Submission. Click on the Create Your own Word Probs assigment and follow the directions on the screen to properly submit your slideshow. 6.Turn in your scene planner sheet and rubric as a group making sure to write your group number and names on both documents. Write your own word problem, use PowerPoint to display your work, and submit the project via Blackboard. This task uses: Learning Objective(s): -To create a real-world situation using a system of equations. -To solve systems of equations by adding and subtracting to eliminate a variable. -To solve systems in more than one way. You may have to adjust the viewing window so the intersection shows. Take a screenshot of the graph to use on screen 3. 5.Open the Educreations app and design your screens. Review your work to ensure accuracy and to ensure that you have all components mentioned in the rubric. You will then complete the audio portion of the slideshow. When you are sure that you do not have any changes to make, save your document as group__ (fill in the blank with your assigned group number). *Once you save your project, you will not be able to edit it! * 6.Upon completion of your project, watch your slideshow. On the upper right corner of the screen will be a gray “Copy Lesson Link” option, select it. Have one member in your group log on to Blackboard. You will then go to my Blackboard site (search for Brandi Sharpton). Click on Tools then Blogs. Click on the blog “Create your own Word Probs” Follow the directions on the screen to properly submit your slideshow. When you have finished your project, be sure to view AT LEAST one other slideshow made by your classmates and make a comment…only positive comments please! 7.Turn in your scene planner sheet and rubric as a group, making sure to write your group number and names on both documents. ***NOTE- If any group member is not contributing to his/her group, they will not necessarily receive the same grade as the other group members. Write your own word problem, use Educreations to display the work, post the project to a blog on Blackboard, then critique the projects of other groups on Blackboard.
