Quick Start Expectations 1.Fill in planner and HWRS HW: BPW p. 65, #11-15, 24, 25 (ACE?) 2.Get a signature on HWRS 3.On desk: protractor, journal, HWRS, pencil, pen 4.Warm Up: next slide… back of HWRS
2
Warm Up With the given information are the two triangles congruent? Explain Yes, ASA proves congruence No, AAA is NOT enough to prove congruence (But it will prove similarity)
6
They are opposite or vertical angles formed when two lines intersect.
7
Sliding, or translating line n along line t will take line n onto parallel line m, so the sides of angle 5 will be “moved” onto those of angle 1.
11
The two images of AC are each parallel to AC, and they share an endpoint, B. So, they must lie in one straight line, since there is only one line through B parallel to AC.
12
The angles 1, 2, and 3 make a straight angle at B as shown. Yes! There was nothing specific about this triangle, and the characteristics of half-turns we used are always true.
