3. Verb Mood: Indicative Definition: a statement, a fact, or an opinion Hint: It indicates something. Example: I screamed loudly at the concert.

4. Verb Mood: Imperative Definition: a command Hint: It is imperative/important that you… Example: Scream your favorite song as loud as you can at the concert.

5. Verb Mood: Interrogative Definition: asks a question Hint: interrogation room Example: Did you scream at the concert?

Verb Mood: Subjunctive Definition: contrary to reality; a wish or hypothetical Hint: What if??? **In the subjunctive mood, it is not certain that this situation will ever happen, unlike in the conditional mood (next slide). It is just a “what if” statement. Uses: if I were, would, should, could, may Example: If I were to scream my loudest, I could severely injure my vocal cords.

7. Verb Mood: Conditional Definition: depends on something else to happen Hint: If this, then that… Under these conditions… **Based on these conditions, something is certain to happen, unlike the subjunctive mood. Uses: will, shall, can, might Example: If you scream the loudest, you will be on TV.
