City of Redmond: Northwest Redmond & U.S. Highway 97 Plan - October 11, 2006 Visioning Redmond 2005 & Framework Plan Where We Have Been… Visioning Redmond identifies Centers and Neighborhoods as the primary tools for creating Great Neighborhoods. Centers Centers will be designed to be pedestrian and bike friendly Development within Centers will be oriented to public spaces Centers will include integrated design elements such as gateways, public art, street lighting and pedestrian amenities Neighborhoods Neighborhoods surrounding centers will provide a variety of housing types. 5000 residents will live within a 5-minute walk of each center to provide a stable customer base for area merchants. Redmond Area Framework Plan, adopted by resolution in August 2006, illustrates urban design and development concepts that are consistent with Visioning Redmond (2005)
