1. “Your Ideas, Your Initiatives” Bike Safety for all Syktyvkar, Russia, 2016

2. We are the 10 th form pupils of school №12.

3. A special event for cyclists takes place in Syktyvkar every year in June. Its name is Bike Night.

4. A lot of pupils in our school often use bicycles; sometimes some of them become accident participants.

5. To start the project we arranged a survey among the pupils at the age from 14 to 18 years old.

6. The pupils answered the four questions: O 1. Do you often ride a bicycle? O 2. Do you follow safety measures for cyclists? O 3. Have you ever become an accident participant? O 4. Do you use outfitting for cyclists?

7. We got the following results: 53% of pupils often ride bikes; 47% of pupils don’t follow safety measures for cyclists; 7% of pupils have become accident participants; 93% of pupils don’t use outfitting for cyclists.

8. Rules, posters and games are very useful for cyclists, because the problem of bike safety is always actual.

9. We handed out more than 500 leaflets.

10. The pupils of our school “travelled” at different “stations” and had to do interesting tasks.

11. At the first “station” all pupils were successful in attaching the right bicycle spare parts.

12. At the second “station” called “Road safety” the cyclists chose the right answer doing the test.

13. The pupils made up stories according to the pictures at the third “station”.

14. At the fourth “station” we discussed the right behavior in traffic accidents and did the first aid.

15. We looked forward to participating in the program “Your ideas, your initiatives”. It was very interesting for us to do all the tasks from the very beginning.
