v1.0 14/03/2016 Acknowledgements The Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HPSC) would like to thank all those who provided the data for this report, particularly the STI clinics, the infectious disease surveillance staff within the departments of public health, the laboratories and GP clinics. These slides present provisional data on Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) notified to HPSC in 2015 via CIDR, the Computerised Infectious Disease Reporting system (for more information on CIDR, see http://www.hpsc.ie/hpsc/CIDR/ ). http://www.hpsc.ie/hpsc/CIDR/ Following data validation later in the year a more detailed report on the epidemiology of STIs for 2015 will be produced. Detailed reports and trend data for previous years are available on the HPSC website at http://www.hpsc.ie/A-Z/HIVSTIs/SexuallyTransmittedInfections/Publications/STIReports/STIAnnualReports/ http://www.hpsc.ie/A-Z/HIVSTIs/SexuallyTransmittedInfections/Publications/STIReports/STIAnnualReports/ Please note: STIs notified via CIDR since January 2013 are; chancroid, Chlamydia trachomatis, gonorrhoea, granuloma inguinale, herpes simplex virus (genital), lymphogranuloma venereum (LGV), syphilis and trichomoniasis. Aggregate data on ano-genital warts (AGW) and non-specific urethritis (NSU) are reported to HPSC on a bi-annual basis from Departments of Public Health and are reported separately (see http://www.hpsc.ie/A-Z/HIVSTIs/SexuallyTransmittedInfections/Publications/STIReports/EpisodicSTIReports/Other/ ). http://www.hpsc.ie/A-Z/HIVSTIs/SexuallyTransmittedInfections/Publications/STIReports/EpisodicSTIReports/Other/ HIV, hepatitis B and sexually transmitted enteric infections (STEI), such as shigellosis, are notified via CIDR and are reported separately (see www.hpsc.ie ) www.hpsc.ie The Irish case definition for syphilis changed on 1st January, 2014, and from this date, syphilis notifications include early (infectious) syphilis only. Data reported here are provisional which may change following clinical review. v1.0 14/03/2016
