2 *Elements located in middle of periodic table. *These elements can form different cations Ex: Fe +2 or Fe +3 *The roman numeral = 1) Manganese (II) bromide 2) Tungsten (IV) phosphide 3) Silver (I) chloride 4) Vanadium (V) sulfide 5) Titanium (II) nitride

3 Rules : 1. Name the cation (transition metal) 2. Place the charge of the transition metal as a roman numeral (calculate this value) 3. Name the anion by changing the ending to “ide”  How to determine the charge…..switcheroo backwards Cr 2 O 3 NiCl 2 Mn 3 As 2 Exception: FeO
