1212 Important notes for applicants Application should be renewed the application every semester. Meal plan is mandatory, 2 meals or 3 meals (On-line application) Dormitory Applications for Summer/Winter Vacation are directly operated by the dormitory administrative office. (Not through the Office of International Services!) Selection Priorities 1st: Korean government scholarship students, Exchange students, New students 2 nd : Undergraduate and Graduate students 3rd: Graduate candidates or Researchers Housing(Dormitory)

1313 How to pay dormitory fees : bank wire transfer Please notes Be sure to use applicant’s name as sender’s name If another name is used, notify it to the Office of the International Services by email. In addition to the dormitory fees, bank processing charges for both countries, intermediary bank must be deposited. Dormitory Orientation (Mandatory!) When : Not fixed (on the 2 nd week in March) Refer to ISSS notice for the fixed date. If you miss this orientation, you receive 3 black points. Black Point Policy Over 3 points: Not allowed to apply for dorm of the next semester Over 10 points: Would be expelled Housing(Dormitory)

Article 18 [Penalty] Residents who have been expelled or warned by dorm office are excluded from selecting residents in the future. Forced expulsion Violations defined by dormitory regulations that correspond to expulsion When a single violation corresponds to 5 penalty points When 2 penal points are added after warning Those who are assigned to forced expulsion must leave within a week. Academic Management - Class Registration (Add/Drop) 1616 When : March 3 rd ~ 7 th (Mon~Fri)[One Week] How to register : Student Support System (http://onestop.pusan.ac.kr) -Courses( 수업 )- Class Registration( 수강신청 ) Credits : At most 19 credits according to your major (for undergraduate) 10 credits (for graduate) Tip : As for basic and general classes, every department has different requirements for graduation. So, please get advice from your department office for details.

Academic Management - Class Withdrawal (W) 1717 When : End of March How : Student Support System-Course( 수업 )-Class Withdrawal( 수강 취소 ( 정규 / 계절 ))-( 정규학기웹신청 ) Student Support System Note - Can apply for up to 2 courses for class withdrawal - Should remain 12 credits after class withdrawal

Academic Management - Examination When : Middle Exam April 21 st (Mon) ~ 25 th (Fri) Final Exam June 16 th (Mon) ~ 20 th (Fri) Tip : When you encounter difficulties to take an exam, you are advised to discuss the professor for a proper solution.

Academic Management - Grade Check 1919 When : June 25 th ~ June 30 st (tentative ) How : Student Support System –Grades( 성적 )-Grades Check( 성적조회 ) Challenging : Students may consult their professors on the given grades for a revision during the designated period.

Academic Management- Academic Probation 2020 For whom :GPA lower than 1.8 or more than two Fs Note : Students who were placed under academic probation, 1. Need to receive an academic counseling. 2. Limitation on class registration 3. Under three consecutive academic probation, you will be dismissed.

Academic Management-Scholarships 2121 Undergraduates Merit-based scholarships + within 7.5/100 % (Full university fee) + within 30/100 % (Full tuition fee) Global Korea Scholarship + over GPA 3.9, TOPIK level 5-6, TOEIC 700(40) + recommendation letter from professor(30) + cover letter and study plan papers ** Refer to ISSS notice for details. Graduates All new students (1/2 of university fee) Enrolled students( for only those achieved GPA 3.5 or higher)

Academic Management- Leave of Absence and Re-enrollment 2323 When : 2014. July 27 th ~ July 31th (Tentative) How to Apply Korean ISSS - 학적 (Academic Record) - 인터넷 휴 / 복학 (Online leave of absence or re-enrollment) However, those who have the following reasons are advised to visit your department office. illnesses, study abroad for over 1 year giving a birth(within 1 year) Note New students are not permitted to take a leave of absence in their first semester.

Procedure Those who have received an approval for leave of absence should visit Office of International Services. The former visa will be expired and you should leave Korea within 14 days after the date when the leave of absence is approved. 2424 Academic Management- Leave of Absence and Re-enrollment

Visa & Immigration- Registration & Re-issuing the Card 2525 Foreigner Registration If intending to stay more than 90 days after entry, foreigners must apply for alien registration at Busan immigrations office within 90 days after arrival. Required Documents Application form (bring a color photo [3.5cm X 4.5cm]) Certificate of Enrollment (available from September 2) Passport Processing Fee of KRW 20,000 Cannot be applied by other person Re-issuing Foreigner Registration Card When: Original card is lost or damaged. Required Documents Application form (photos not required) Report of lost Foreigner registration card (issued by the police station) or statement of reason Passport & processing fee of KRW10,000

Visa & Immigration-Visa Extension 2626 All the foreigners must extend visa before expiration. Commonly Required Documents Application form Passport A copy of bank account in applicant’s name(more than USD 12,000) Processing fee of KRW 30,000 Additional documents to submit For regular degree-seeking students(undergraduate/ graduate) : Certificate of enrollment, Receipt of tuition payment, and Official transcript For diploma candidates: Recommendation letter from an academic supervisor(including guidance, schedule of thesis examination, recommendation reasons, etc.)

Visa & Immigration-Visa Change(D2) 2727 For whom: Change to a regular degree-seeking students(Bachelor, Master’s or Doctoral Program) D4(language training) -> D2, E3(Researcher) -> D2 Required documents Standard admission letter(enrollment certificate after September 2) Application form Receipt of tuition payment, Graduation certificate of the latest degree Alien Registration Card Attendance sheets(for D4 holders, attendance rate : over 80%) Financial capability: a bank book(more than USD 12,000) Passport Processing charge of KRW 70,000

Visa & Immigration- Re-entry Permit & Returning Foreigner Registration Card 2828 Returning Foreigner Registration Card When you leave Korea after obtaining the degree, you should return the card to the immigration office at airport or ferry terminal. Visa Cancellation : Disenrollment or Leave of Absence(14days) Return to School(Re-enrollment) : should report it to OIS

Visa & Immigration-Part-time Employment Visa(S-3) 2929 For whom: D-2 visa holders Permitted Working Hours (per week) Undergraduate: 20 hrs. Graduate: 30 hrs. Up to 2 work places, No limits during weekends or vacation Permitted Working Period : within the expiration date of D2 visa When you change your working place, you should report it to the Office of International Services. How to register : www. hikorea.go.kr E-Application->File an application ->Degree or Korean language course foreign student part time working permission-> Upload a letter of recommendation (Unified Standard Form)

Visa & Immigration-Alteration Reporting 3030 The Temporary Place of Residence Alteration When you change the address of residence, you must report the new address to the immigrations office within 14 days. Student Life-International Student Health Insurance 3333 International students are required to purchase a travelers’ insurance which covers a minimum of US$10,000. How to register : Pay the insurance fee when you pay for tuition or dorm fee Students who don’t hold any insurance are not allowed to live in dormitory.
