2. Guernsey Football Association Developing Football for Everyone Football Association Rule 22 “All clubs shall be members of a Players’ personal accident scheme. The policy cover shall be at least the minimum recommended cover determined from time to time by the sanctioning Association.” Mandatory requirement with effect from the 2013-14 season. The Guernsey Football Association supports the Bluefin Sport, The National Game Insurance Scheme, Group personal accident insurance for adult football teams.

3. When does cover apply? Policies operate whilst at any ground or premises worldwide where there is an agreed fixture or training and includes travelling directly to and from such activities. In addition the policy extends to include club social events but excluding hazardous events such as fireworks, bonfires, driving events, bouncy castles, water sports, anything at a height above 3 metres from ground level. The Life Cover, which commences at attainment of 6 years of age and ceases at attainment of 50 years of age, is operative 24 hours a day 365 days a year.

The policy automatically includes: Players (maximum age limit is 55) Committee members) Managers) Trainers) (maximum age limit is 75) Assistant referees) An extension to cover applies for persons over the maximum age limits but with reduced benefits. Schedule available from the GFA. What are the main exclusions? Other than accidents caused whilst travelling by motorcycle or injuries associated with arthritis there are few exclusions.

Guernsey Football Association Developing Football for Everyone Premium (per club): £110.71 per 11 a side team £ 58.50 per 5/7 a side team The premium will be collected as part of the player registration fee. Clubs will be invoiced on a per team basis for the total premium, based on the number of insured teams, and reimbursed by the GFA from registration fees. Premium (per player): £10.00 per player to be added to annual registration fee.
