1 Sophomore Transcript Review & Goal Setting  Let’s take a look at previous BHS graduates and see what it takes to get into college  Where do you stack up based on your freshman year grades … where are you so far this year … where do you want to finish?

2 Decile Rankings  A decile represents 10% of the total class  There are 10 deciles in each grade  Deciles 1-5 are in the top half … but if you are in Decile 6-10, you are still college- bound if you want to be! EVERYONE has to be represented somewhere!

3 Decile Placement – each decile represents 10% of the class Top 10% - 4.0 or higher Top 20% - 3.8 to 4.0 Top 30% - 3.6 to 3.8 Top 40% - 3.5 to 3.6 Top 50% - 3.3 to 3.5 Top 60% - 3.1 to 3.3 Top 70% - 2.8 to 3.1 Top 80% - 2.6 to 2.8 Top 90% - 2.1 to 2.6 Top 100% - up to 2.1 *These are estimated decile ranges based on past senior class performance*

4 GPA grid  How much are your letter grades worth in relationship to a GPA number? Grades in an Honors class are valued higher than in an academic Grades in an Honors class are valued higher than in an academic Grades in an AP class are valued higher than in honors Grades in an AP class are valued higher than in honors  Your grades are averaged together based on full year/half year/quarter long courses
