Innocenzo Manzetti was an Italian inventor born in 1826. Mooted the idea of the telephone in 1844.

3 The first phone call The very first phone call was made on March 10, 1876 by Alexander Graham Bell. "Watson, come here. I want you.“  Alexander Graham Bell is credited with inventing the first practical telephone - By today’s standards the call was a short call over a short distance.
