Status Report: Multi-Departmental effort 18 potential ordinances have been identified 5 ordinances have been adopted, 1 proposed for adoption tonight, and are being implemented:  Prohibition of medical marijuana dispensaries  Regulation of Shopping carts  Moratorium on smoke shops and hookah lounges  “Florida First” Program  Sex Offender Location Restrictions  Sex offender Residency Restrictions (new)

3. 4 new draft ordinances have been prepared and are under review by the Technical Advisory Team:  Group Homes & Boarding Houses (revised)  Parolee/Probationer housing  Drug & Gang Related Crime on residential property  Abatement of Chronic Nuisance Properties

4. 3 Updates to existing ordinances are under preparation:  Updates to Administrative Citations  Update to Nuisance Abatement Ordinance  Update to Abandoned/Foreclosure Ordinance 5 additional ordinances need research and review of other agencies and case law:  Rental Unit Registration and Inspection Ordinance  Landscape & Property Maintenance  Motel residency  Prostitution  Alcoholic Beverage Permit regulations

5. Implementation Efforts: Medical Marijuana Dispensaries Smoke Shops Shopping Cart Regulations & Containment Plans Florida First Program – Chief Brown Sex Offender restrictions

6. Program Review & Refinement: Formation of staff Technical Advisory Team – all Hemet city departments Proposed Executive Advisory Committee (EAC) Proposed Government Agency Liaison Group Proposed Citizen Advisory Committee :  Working group of Approx.15 members  Meet once a month, approx. 6 month timeframe  Provide comments and feedback to proposed ordinances, programs, and community conditions  Selection by the EAC  Formation by March 13, 2012
