TOPIC OF PARAGRAPH A topic is the general subject of a written passage To understand a paragraph, it’s important to find the topic The topic is the idea to which all of the details in the paragraph refer A topic is usually expressed as a word or phrase Identifying a topic can help to find the author’s main idea

TOPIC OF PARAGRAPH Finding the topic is like identifying a title for the paragraph or passage. To find the topic, ask yourself this question "What or who is this about?"
