The Advanced Innovation Challenge: This is a new and exciting unit set by OCR which requires a student to design and model in a workshop or examination room and complete a workbook and question paper. An example of future ‘themes’ is the 2012 Olympics which has a series of related tasks supported by resources. This is a major change and a response to employers who have been crying out for schools to develop problem solving skills. This unit will give students a chance to explore their creative, practical design and modeling skills

6. The Product Study: This is an in depth study of a product which consists of product analysis, development, prototype modeling and testing.
