Wales, Chongqing Relationship History: Following a visit from Chinese Premier in 2000 Wales and Chongqing were identified as regions that would benefit from collaboration 2000 British Consulate opened in Chongqing First MOU between Wales and Chongqing signed in 2006 March 2008 a formal Co-operation Agreement was signed between Wales and Chongqing. Sectors that have established links include trade, technology, health, agriculture, energy and education MOU for HEI`s and FEI`s Education signed in 2010
