Career Assessment & Counseling: – Aptitude and Interest Assessments – Comprehensive and Situational Evaluations – Discovery 1 and 2 (SE Customers) – Supported Employment Individual Career Plan (SE Customers) Pre-Placement Training: – Pre-placement Training Work Experience : – On-the-Job Training (OJT) Services – Community-Based Work Experiences (e.g. TPCA) – Job Coaching Current VR Services which Meet WIOA Requirements

On the Job Training (OJT) – Work behaviors (limited/no emphasis on placement) – Average 4-6 weeks – Can be paid or unpaid – Placement referral not necessary – Provider can be Employer of Record Business is not required to sign any forms Pre-Placement Training Minimum of 20 hours (20 more hours if needed) Minimum required curriculum (see contract) plus Individualized curriculum OJT and Pre-Placement Training

Q: Are we expected to fit OJT, individual career planning and Discovery 1 & 2 into the 20 hours for pre placement training? If not, how much more time does this bring us up to? A: OJT, Individual Career Planning (ICP), Discovery 1 and 2, and Pre-Placement Training are each distinct services. Pre-Placement Training is the only one with the 20 hour minimum requirement and an additional 20 hours may be requested if needed for the youth to learn the skills being taught.

Q: Is there a length of time that the average OJT lasts? A: 4-6 weeks on average

Q: Do we have an idea of the approximate number of transitional youth in our area? The map in the Webinar showed the numbers for a very large area. A: To understand the number of potential VR transition youth customers in your area, it is best to contact the local VR Transition Liaison, which is also the Area Supervisor.
