MSIP 5 Definitions MSIP 5 measures five standards. Academic Achievement, Subgroup Achievement, College and Career Readiness, Attendance, and Graduation Rate. MPI – MAP Performance Index APR – Annual Progress Report Status, Progress and Growth measurements of the district or school’s level of achievement is based upon a three year average. Exceeding, On Track, Approaching and Floor – four levels within Status, Progress or Growth EOC – End of Course exams administered only at the high school level MAP – Missouri Assessment Program administered only in grades 3 - 8

Missouri Growth Model Growth measures in MSIP 5 are designed to provide estimates of schooling effectiveness for units (LEAs or schools) as a whole. Growth Model uses data from grades 3 through 8. The use of multiple years of data improves the stability of the growth estimates. For Standard 2, Subgroup significant growth indicates that the super-subgroup students in the school, on average, outperformed the non-super subgroup students. Subgroup represents, Black, Hispanic, low income students, students with disabilities and English language learners. A super subgroup is comprised of these five subgroups and include only students who are in one or more of the five identified subgroups.

Moving Forward Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development

Professional Learning Communities/Data Teams 1.Use state rubric to evaluate current level of implementation. 2.Provide feedback from initial evaluation and develop action plan for improvement. 3.Monitor quarterly the functioning of the PLCs and provide feedback. 4.Provide Professional Development to PLC teams as needed.

Assessments Formative: 1.Provide professional development on the effective use of formative assessment (Assessment for Learning). 2.Expect formative assessments to be used in the data cycle. 3.Monitor the data teams to ensure that formative assessments are being used. 4.Provide feedback to the data teams on the use of formative assessments during the quarterly PLC feedback session. NWEA: 1.Administer three times per year. 2.PD on analyzing data scheduled for September 26 th. 3.Utilize Screener for grades K-2. 4.Utilize Survey for grades 3-8.

Curriculum Alignment 1.Core Curriculum aligned to Missouri Learning Standards. 2.Quarterly performance events integrated across the four core areas. 3.Emphasis on Argumentative and Expository writing across cores. 4.Focus on Academic Vocabulary. 5.Cluster the standards to design cohesive units that allow for deeper exploration of learning. 6.Units in all core areas focus on argumentative literacy and require student to cite supporting evidence. 7.Walk throughs will be used to monitor. 8.End of Quarter assessment will be used to monitor.
