Minimalism: Listening Activity Steve Reich: Six Marimbas 1.Discussion of learning objectives. 2. Listening activity: 3 levels. LA: Play music for 20 seconds displaying slide 2. Ask pupils what they can hear then display slide 3. Pupils to answer using their words, signs or pre- prepared symbols. Display slide 5. MA: Display slide 6 or 7 depending on ability range and/or give individual pupils a question each on a laminated card. Play music from the beginning for about 3-4 minutes and discuss answers. HA: Display slide 7 or give pupils a set of laminated cards each to select their answers from. Play music for about 4-5 minutes then discuss answers. 3. How did I do? Discussion of outcomes, AFL.
