But The major part of telecom revenue will still come from voice service in the coming 5-10 years. But the migration to NGN should be a step-wise process. That is, it is a long term and gradual process but not a impetuous revolution. According to the report on Annual NGN Summit 2004, the development of telecom network should be divided into 2 phases. In the first phase, that is in the coming ten years, all the networks, including PSTN/NGN/3G will coexist.

Step 1: Set up NGN Transit layer

S&S CENTER:Screen the difference of LS, releasing fast delivery of service across the whole network, without upgrading of each LS. CENTRALIZED SUB DATABASE(SHLR):Centralize the sub attributes, realizing the separation of sub service attributes from the LS. Select trial sites to build a SSC at the transit layer using NGN: All calls of LSs are processed at the transit layer, making it the service switching center. Powerful service switching center: hides the features of LSs to enable fast delivery of intelligent services network-wide. All the services can be deployed without any change or upgrading or investment to the current legacy local offices. without any change or upgrading or online sampling cost for each local office, you can get Local CDR network-wide. Realizing the real-time charging cost-effectively; It complies with the target NFN structure. The routs and maintenance of the discrete local offices are considerably simplified, saving a large number of maintenance staff, decreasing the demand for the LO maintenance staff, realizing a better centralized maintenance.

JTB is the world’s first operator to launch commercial NGN solutions to upgrade the legacy network in the whole country. 3: The U-SYS is being used for consolidating 120,000 lines of switching and providing IP Centrex services to business subscribers in Brunei. China Satcom uses the U-SYS to build its national VoIP long distance network serving 200 cities. By issuing 6 million PPS cards, it achieved returns on investment within three months.
