4 PRIOR TO THE CREATION OF UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS: Transition Process Fundamentation Semester (previous to the Admision) Better Articulation between secundary education and University requirements: Language and Mathematics

5 PEAMA: Programa Especial de Admision y Movilidad por Areas Area Admision and Mobility Special Program Frontier Campuses: Amazonia, Orinoquia, Caribbean, Pacific Three Phases 1.Initial: Fundamentation: Leticia, up to 3 semesters 2.Medium: Profundization: Andean Campuses: Bogota, Medellin, Manizales, Palmira 3.Final: Graduation: Leticia

7 PEAMA: The most important academic program of quality designed to offer undergraduate careers and disciplines for the whole Amazon region including Amazonas, Guaviare, Caqueta, Putumayo, Vaupes and Guainia. It offers 90 posts distributed to 47 undergraduate programs organized under the unbrella of knowledge areas: a) Engineering; b) Natural Sciences; c) Social Sciences; d) Economic Scienes; e) Agricultural Sciences; f) Health Sciences. It does not offer yet: Medicine; Law; Architecture and Arts

8 It is INNOVATIVE in several ways: a)Each Program only accept 3 candidates, so it produces a wide range of professionals for different careers. b) It combines several pedagogical modalities: Presenciality; Telepresence; academic MOBILITY of students and professors; and virtual education. c) At this moment, The Amazon Branch is producing and broadcasting classes to Arauca, and San Andres, but next year it is expected to do this to Bogota.

13 MAIN CHALLENGE : Push in depth against Internal Colonialism. Supporting the path traced by 1991 Constitutional Chart that supported descentralization and erected National Territories as Departamentos. Transforming Frontier Lands in a Region with a proud Identity Educating potential Local Leaders to drive their own institutions and people
