Travel Arrangements Outbound: Thursday 24 th March 09.45hrsMeet coach at The Bewdley School 14.20hrs Check in opens at London Gatwick Airport, North Terminal 16.20hrs Flight departs for Barcelona Airport 19.25hrs Arrive at El Prat De Llobregat Airport in BCN Inbound: Monday 28 th March 17.00hrsGroup will be met by the Coach at the Hotel. 18.20hrsCheck in at the airport. 20.20hrsFlight departs 21.45hrs Arrive at Gatwick airport, South Terminal Inbound: Monday 28 th March 02.00hrsApprox. arrival at The Bewdley School Luggage Allowance: 20kg of checked in luggage per person + 10 kg and no bigger than 56 cm x 40 cm x 25 cm

Year 9 Barcelona trip 2016 Dates: Thurday 24 th March – Monday 28th = 5 days and 4 nights on the Costa Brava! Price includes: Flights, Coach, food (full board at the hotel), accommodation, insurance, entrance tickets

Programme: Thursday 24th March Leave school at 10.00am (packed lunch required for the day) Travel to London Gatwick Fly to Barcelona (no hot meals on the plane but snacks can be purchased). Transfer to hotel. Dinner at the hotel. If we arrive late, this might be in the form of a packed lunch.

Programme: Friday 25 th March Breakfast at hotel Full day at Port Aventura Packed lunch provided Evening meal at the hotel

This is our Barcelona day! Breakfast at the hotel Visit of Nou Camp Lunch provided – picnic at Park Güell Walk around La Sagrada Familia and the markets. Visit to the Museu de la Xocolata. Dinner at the hotel Programme: Saturday 26 th March

This is our relaxed beach day Breakfast at the hotel The coach will take us to the seaside resort of Tossa de Mar. Packed lunch is provided by the hotel. Opportunity to visit the castle and the lighthouse, relax at the beach and discover the picturesque town of Tossa. Dinner and entertainment at the hotel. Programme: Sunday 27 th March

Language lesson and return! Breakfast at the hotel. Check out and leave luggage in the storage room. 2 hour Spanish lesson in a specialist school. Walk back to the hotel and hot lunch provided. Time to visit the town we are staying at and maybe go to the beach again. This is flexible. Meet coach to airport at 4pm and flight back to England at 8.20pm. Programme: Monday 28 th March

Evening Entertainment….. 1.Quiz night OR games 2.Possibility to swim at the hotel, weather permitting. For evenings: We will not be coming back to the hotel until after 8.30pm on Friday and Saturday. On Sunday there will be…

On the coach

Coach Expectations Sit appropriately with seat belt fastened at all times. Respect others at all times and behave appropriately – as shown on previous Bewdley School trips. E.g. There will be NO Loud Music (Headphones only!) There are some more NO’s to note! NO chewing gum. NO Red Bull or any other energy drink. NOTE: There are plenty of seats next to adults on the coach – you may be asked to “Relocate” if required…

Accommodation – Calella Palace 4* 4* hotel in the town of Calella. Full board basis – all meals included apart for lunch on the way to the airport and evening meal on the way back. Students accommodated in triples

Additional Details Passports – should have at least 6 months forward validity. EHIC card Pocket Money – we suggest an amount of no more than £50, however you must bring 10 euros as a deposit. You should have this money back. We will also ask to look after Passports for the week, storing them in the Hotel safe, to avoid loss “issues”.

10 EUROS DEPOSIT AND ANY MEDICATION IN YOUR HAND LUGGAGE ON THURSDAY. This will be checked and looked after by your group leader until it is required at the check in desk/ hotel. Any liquids to be placed into the main luggage. YOUR GROUP LEADER WILL TAKE NOTE OF YOUR MOBILE NUMBER WHILST YOU ARE IN SPAIN. WE WILL ONLY CONTACT YOU IF YOU DO NOT MAKE IT TO THE CHECK IN POINTS/TIMES. SUNCREAM WOULD BE ADVISED. A SMALL RUCKSACK WOULD BE ADVISABLE. DO NOT BRING EXPENSIVE ITEMS ON THE DAY IN BARCELONA. KEEP TO ESSENTIALS AND TAKE MINIMUM AMOUNT OF MONEY FOR LUNCH AND SOUVENIRS.

You will be expected to dress appropriately each day and will be asked to change if deemed inappropriate. The weather is likely to be similar to the UK at that time of year – hopefully warmer! - No crop tops/ No hot pants - comfortable shoes - raincoat (easier than an umbrella!) - trousers worn above your underwear – no low slung jeans -A warm jumper and warmer clothes for the evening -Your HOODIE if you ordered one. Worst Case Scenarios Getting lost Hospital treatment A member of staff would accompany the learner to the hospital. It is unlikely that the member of staff would remain at the hospital over night. Please be aware that our responsibility is with the whole group and we will make the decision accordingly.

Medicines Learners may need some sort of pain relief so all MUST COME PREPARED PLEASE. (e.g. In case of sore throat, cold, headache, aching limbs etc…) Medices should be in a named, preferably re- sealable, clear plastic bag. Learners will be responsible for these during the journey. All non-essential medication should be in the main luggage. Travel sickness tablets and medication such as asthma inhalers to be with student at all times. (May be wise to have a spare just in case!)

The Rules and Consequences There will be NO illegal substances. There will be NO mixed rooms. Pupils must NOT enter each others’ rooms after the designated time Pupils must NOT enter opposite sex rooms at all. Evening events will be COMPULSORY. Learners will NOT be able to go off into the towns we visit on their own! (they may be given some free time but must go off in groups and within a designated area.) NOTE: A member of staff will be in a designated place throughout this time to contact in case of emergency. Abuse of this will result in no free time being given.

Currency: Euro (€). Current rate around 1,30€ : £1.00 Time: Central European Time (CET) – 1 hour ahead of UK Languages: Castellano & Catalan Spending money: Around £30 Plugs: European 2-pin plugs required Using data in Spain is expensive but free with Three!
