Animation Scheme Slide Sorter View Transition Spotlight on PresentationsChapter 38
9
A transition specifies how the slide show advances from one slide to another. Click the Animations tab to display that ribbon. The middle of the ribbon displays a variety of transitions. When you place your mouse pointer over each one, a preview of the transition appears on your slide. To change the speed of the transition, click the down arrow next to Transition Speed on the Animations Ribbon. To apply the speed to all of the slides, go to the Animations Ribbon and click the Apply To All button. Spotlight on PresentationsChapter 39 Inserting Transitions Between Slides
10
Click the Slide Show button on the View Ribbon. You can either click your left mouse button or press the spacebar to advance from slide to slide. When you get to the end of the slide show, you will see a black screen. Click the left mouse button or press the spacebar again to return to the slide window. Spotlight on PresentationsChapter 310 Previewing the Slide Show
11
Animation is preset visual effects that determine the way text and other objects appear on the slide. There are more than 50 different animations to choose from. Click View to display that ribbon and click Slide Master. On the Custom Animation task pane, we can change the way objects appear on the slide, emphasize the object by adding a different animation, have it follow a motion path, or determine the way it exits the slide. You can also add effects by clicking on the Add Effect button from the task pane. Spotlight on PresentationsChapter 311 Adding Animation to Slide Objects
12
To change the animation for the titles, click on the View tab and then click Slide Master. Click the animation effect to be changed from the list in the Custom Animation task pane. Click the Change button and choose a new effect. Make sure to save. Spotlight on PresentationsChapter 312 Changing the Animation
13
After you open your PowerPoint, click the View tab and then click Slide Show. The slide show starts. Remember to click your left mouse button or press the spacebar to advance through the presentation. Spotlight on PresentationsChapter 313 Manually Advancing a Presentation
14
The slide sorter view is a way of viewing the slide show where you will see all slides in miniature. You can set the PowerPoint so it plays by itself. Click the Slide Show tab and then click Rehearse Timings. When you are in the Slide Sorter View, you will also see the exact number of seconds each slide plays. To change the time on a slide, click the Animations tab to display that ribbon. After you choose the slide you want to change, click next to Automatically After and type in the amount of time you would like the slide to be displayed. Spotlight on PresentationsChapter 314 Setting Timings
15
Transitions are used to help build excitement for the slides that follow, as well as to add closure to the previous slide. Different transitions can be added to different slides. You can advance through the slides by clicking your left mouse button or pressing the spacebar. The animation determines how text and other objects appear on the slide. Animating text helps the audience focus on the presentation and the current topic. It is best to choose only a couple animation effects for the entire presentation so as not to overwhelm your audience members. Timers can be set to allow the presentation to run automatically.
