Circulation and Reserve Circulation and reserve Library functions are available to all registered York College students

Current York Faculty, Staff, and Students All circulation and resesve functions are available to current York students, faculty and staff. An activated ID card is required to use non-York library functions, including the use of Library databases from off-campus.

Loan period Circulating items circulate to York students for three (3) weeks, with a three (3) week renewal available.

Loan to York College Alumni Circulating items are available to York College alumni with a valid ID for three (3) weeks.

Queens High School for the Sciences students Current Queens High School for the Sciences students at York College can borrow circulating items for three (3) weeks.

Prelude to Success Students enrolled in York College’s Prelude to Success program can borrow circulating items for three (3) weeks.

CUNY and York Faculty, etc. CUNY Faculty can borrow circulating items for four (4) weeks. York faculty can borrow circulating items for sixteen (16) weeks. CUNY staff can borrow circulating items for four (4) weeks. York College staff can borrow circulating items for six (6) weeks. York adjunct faculty can borrow circulating items for six (6) weeks.

Loan Limits Up to seven (7) circulating items can be borrowed by a user at a time.

Fines Overdue fines are limited to ten cents (.10) per item per day. There is a fee of the replacement cost of an item if the item is lost. This is limited to a charge of $25.00 if an item is out of print. In addition to the replacement charge, there is a ten dollar ($10.00) per item recataloging / reprossessing fee ALL fines must be paid at the Bursar’s Office. A failure to pay a fine may result in a blockage of the user’s transcripts and / or future checks.

DVDs DVDs circulate for two (2) days A late fine of ten dollars ($10.00) per item per day is charged for late DVDs

Reserve Items Reserve items in the York College Library are available for in the Library use for two (2) hours. Reserve items are available to anyone who has a valid ID card (York ID, CUNY IID, or driver’s license). Late fines for reserve items in the York College Library are two cents ($0.02) per minute per item.

Reference Items Reference items stay in the Library at all times, and are available to anyone who has entre to the Academic Core of York College.

O.T. Theses Occupational Therapy theses are treated as reserve materials. They can be borrowed and used for two hours in the Library, like all other reserve materials.

Non-York and Non-Cuny Individuals Non-York and non-CUNY students without a barcode on their CUNY ID’s are treated as guests of the Library.
