The objective of the Session Students are expected to: -Review paragraph skills introduced in units 1-4.

The general topics that have been discussed in units 1-4 are: - Types of Sentences - Punctuation marks - Subject verb agreement - Sentence fragments and run on sentences/ comma splices. - The Topic Sentence - The supporting Sentences -The Concluding Sentence - Pronouns used for key nouns

1- What are the features of a paragraph?(U.1 p.9) 2- What are the features 0f a good topic sentence? (U.3 p.42) Activity 1 Writing Topic Sentences, p.76 Read each paragraph and write a suitable topic sentence for each. 1- Joining a university requires a sequence of steps. 2- The Capilano Suspension Bridge is a Canadian adventurous landmark. 3- I will never forget my first attendance at a rock concert.

Building Better Sentences, p.237 Read the sentences and write one sentence that includes their whole information. 1- Today, only adventure-seeking tourists attempt to cross the narrow, swinging bridge. 2- Hockey is a popular sport in both of Canada and the United States. 3- Sweat tea is a very easy to make drink which is popular in the south United States.

Activity 6, p.80, Sequencing Information The seven sentences are a paragraph but they are not in the right order. Read these sentences and put them in the right order. Also write the kind of the sentence ( a topic, a supporting, or a concluding) opposite to each one. After that write a good title for the paragraph.
