Silesian University in Opava, Faculty of Public Policies in Opava http://www.fvp.slu.czHistory The Faculty has operated since 1st October 2008 In 2008 it consisted of three scientific and pedagogical departments: – The Institute of Nursing – The Institute of Pedagogical and Psychological Science – The Institute of Public Administration and Regional Policy Students studied four accredited bachelor programs (two of them in a combined form of study) and one following their master’s study The first faculty statute was authorised on 25. 11. 2008 2 236 students have graduated during the five years of its existence

There they can gather knowledge and practical skills –Professionals are involved in guidance in students theses and lectures –We can find the Center of Social Business at the Institute of Public Administration and Regional Policy

Silesian University in Opava, Faculty of Public Policies in Opava http://www.fvp.slu.cz Science and Research Basic Research Basic Research – There is ongoing long-term basic historical research of socio-economical issues in the Faculty of Public Policy Project of the Grant Agency Czech Republic The Persecution of Czechoslovakian citizens in the Soviet Union during 1918-1956, realization 2009 – 2013 Project GA CR Industrial labor in the Czech Republic 1938-1948, realization 2013 – 2017 Applied research Applied research – A total of 25 projects processed, mostly regional, including Czech and Polish border area – The resources are obtained from resort programs of the Moravia-Silesia district, the Silesian Euroregion and the Technological Agency CR – The results are implemented in solving the problems of cities and districts – Significant involvement of master’s and PhD students
