Zeus (Jupiter) King of the gods and ruler of mankind Central figure of the myths Can be just and fair at times or cruel and manipulative Symbols: eagle, thunderbolt, sceptre, oak tree, aegis (shield)

Hera (Juno) Queen of the gods wife (and sister) of Zeus A very powerful goddess known for her jealousy Can be vicious and spiteful (usually because of Zeus’s infidelity) Symbols: peacock, cow, Iris

Poseidon (Neptune) God of the sea, horses, and earthquakes Zeus’s brother and second to him in power Can be cruel and unpredictable when angry Feuding with Odysseus and holds a grudge Symbols: trident, horse, bull
