ACT Test preparation Start diligently preparing 5-6 months from your test date. i.e. start prepping in October for a test in April. Eliminate stresses that cause underperformance. Be realistic- A student is probably going to miss a few questions.

ACT Test Preparation What to do the week before… Tie up all loose ends. For example: ACT Application Materials Know the test time. Know the test location. Insure that all test supplies are packed and ready for the test.

ACT Test Preparation What to do the day before… Relax Get a good night’s sleep. What to do the day of the test… Eat a typical breakfast, don’t overeat. Double-check to insure all test materials ready. Arrive at testing location 15-20 minutes early.

ACT Test Taking Tips Relax Mistakes will be made. The mark on the answer sheet is all that matters. A person can know the correct answer, but if they mark the incorrect circle, they will get the question wrong.

ACT Test Taking Tips Save more difficult items for last. Know the test makers attempt to distract and trick students. Watch for phrases like: Except Not At Least

ACT Test Taking Tips If you don’t know an answer, eliminate and guess. Do work in your test booklet. Do not make smudges on your answer sheet. On reading portion– read and underline main points and ideas.
