www.haya.om His Majesty’s Speech on November 18, 1992 “ There are people who believe that the beautiful green public parks of Muscat and other major cities, and question whether or not we should be using such a precious resource as water for beautification, when we could use it for drinking or farming. In fact, the irrigation of these parks and trees helps us to make the environment cleaner, and create clean and pure air for the people of these cities. Some people perhaps do not realize that, thanks to the latest technology, and due to a massive investment in infrastructure, that these parks and trees are being watered by treated wastewater, and not by drinking water. This new technology allows us to save our clean water resources for the people of Oman, who can also enjoy the parks and trees at their leisure” 2

www.haya.om 2002 2005 1.1 Our journey of success Established RD 69/2005 issued to give Haya Water Concession to Manage Facilities in Muscat Governorate. 2006 Signing of 30 years Concession Agreement with the Government to build and operate wastewater collection, treatment and reuse systems. Agreement with Muscat Municipality regarding supply of TE water. Agreement with Government about land use (21 different agreements for different lands). The Chamber of the Ministers decide for Haya Water to Provide Services to all Oman*. *except Dhofar Governorate 2014 Signing the agreement with MRMWR to Manage waste water assets in all governorates*. 2015 5

www.haya.om Services Treated Effluent Sale (41customers, 67,300 m³/day, 70% of total sales for Muscat Municipality). Tankers Service owned by Haya Water (20 tankers with average 110 trips/day). Tankers Offloading Service average of 1600 trips per day. Kala Compost Sale Service (227 registered customers, average yearly sales of 331,000 bags, bag = 50L). Lab Service (90 registered customers from government and private sectors). 75372 accounts connected the network. 9

www.haya.om Strategic Objectives Quality of Life Maintaining the health of people by getting rid of conventional wastewater systems and water overflow that these systems cause which create an appropriate habitat for disease-carrying insects and cause air pollution and odors. Protecting groundwater resources from pollution caused by wastewater infiltration and maintaining fresh water reserves clean and healthy. Reduction in utilizing costly pure water in irrigation. Protection of people from illness. Tourism: All Golf courses. Irrigating Parks. Wetland: create new environment for birds and plants that attract birds watchers. (290 different Type of birds) Construct more green areas and house gardens within the country. 1 12

www.haya.om Strategic Objectives Creating Industries Provide treated wastewater for agriculture to reduce the import of agricultural products to the Sultanate. From Haya Water’s supply chain, several industries has been created as following : Constructions : Networks, Sewage Treatment Planet, Pumping Stations. Operations & Maintenance: Chemicals vendors, Houses Connections, Spare parts, etc... Training : HSE, Admins, Operating, etc... Provide high-quality organic fertilizers at reasonable prices to enhance the agricultural sector. TE Utilization: Agriculture (Lower Cost water Vs Desalinated water) which will contribute significantly in food security. Flowers Business. TE transportation : Green Tankers. 2 13

www.haya.om Strategic Objectives Creating Jobs Create job opportunities for citizens in Haya Water as well as to support the economy and attract foreign investments. For developing of assets out of all mentioned industries, thousands jobs were created and will be created especially with the expansion of Out Side Muscat and TE Utilization strategy. SMEs: Haya Water has its’ strategy to support SMEs in addition to it’s ICV contribution. 3 14
