2. Type cfnc.org into your browser and click on “Plan”

3. Click “For a Career”

4. Click “Learn About Yourself”

5. By clicking “Learn About Yourself,” you can take various personality inventories

6. “Explore Careers” will let you Browse Career Clusters

7. Here are some possible careers within Information Technology

8. You can learn more about the profession by clicking on the various tabs and/or watching the video

14. You can learn more about CPCC’s programs in a specific area, some important characteristics for the given job, and additional occupation resources and related job sites

15. Career Coach is another great resource. Click on cpcc.emsicareercoach.com or type it into your browser

16. Select the green box “Career Assessment” if you are unsure of what career you might want to pursue

17. Click “Let’s Get Started!”

18. Answer the questions. When you are done, click “Done! See Results” to learn what careers might be a good fit for you

19. If you know what you’d like to study, type it in the search box and select “Go”

20. Select a job title that sounds like what you might be interested in pursuing

21. You can learn more about salary ranges, employment data, typical education level required, as well as see job openings in a 50 mile radius of the zip code listed at the top of the page. Use the picture of the globe to change the zip code

22. Once you learn which programs you are interested in, you can use CPCC’s college catalog to learn about the courses you’ll need to take. From the CPCC homepage, click the College Catalog icon at the bottom of the page

23. For a program you’re not already in, select the most recent catalog. Otherwise, select the catalog year in which you began the program

24. Select College-Level programs

25. “College Transfer Programs” are for those wishing to transfer to another school to earn a Bachelor’s degree. “Associate in Applied Science Degrees, Diplomas & Certificates” are geared for those wishing to get a job after graduating from CPCC

26. If you are interested in our Applied Science programs, scroll through to find the program in which you are interested. They are in alphabetical order.

27. This screen will show a basic overview of the program. You can select the other green tabs for more information

28. This Degrees slide shows the classes you’ll need to take in order to earn an Associates Degree. Be sure to note any additional Admissions requirements

29. If you click on the three letter code, you’ll get a brief description of what the class is a about and any prerequisites (courses needed before the one you want to take) and co- requisites (courses that need to be taken before or at the same time)

30. The Courses tab will provide a summary of the classes in the program

31. The College Transfer Programs tab will explain those degrees

32. The A.A. degree is geared for those wishing to earn Bachelors degrees in the Humanities, Nursing, Social Sciences, and Business

33. The A.S. degree is geared for those wishing to earn a Bachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Medicine, and Engineering
