Our mission is to provide you with a helpful, supportive multimedia environment which enhances your language learning experience. Please study the following policies.
3
Read and always follow the Lab policies. Fill out an orange Lab card and clock in and clock out when you enter or leave the Lab for any reason. For everyone’s convenience, we are now using a digital system for counting your Lab hours. Each computer will ask you to sign in and then sign out on the “Lab Track” program.
4
Currently we still use the lab cards as a back up for counting your hours but this is temporary. Please sign in and out using both your lab card and Lab Track (on computer) until we are sure Lab Track will give us correct reports. Thank you!
5
Today, you will sign a policy acceptance form. After this you will complete your lab registration and fill out your lab timecard.
6
Always clock in and clock out with your lab card and also on “Lab Track. “ Do not take your lab card with you. It remains in the Lab. Lab Policies
7
Work on the assignments that your teacher gave to you or that you find on the Language Lab Website. Click on “Lab Assignments.” Do not use the Lab to do routine homework. The Lab is for special help and practice.
8
No guests or children are allowed in the lab at any time. Turn off your cell phone. Do not bring food or drinks into the Lab.
9
Do not use the Internet if it is not for your Lab assignment class. Personal E-mail is forbidden in this lab. You may use another campus computer lab for email but not this one. Study quietly. Respect other students.
10
The telephone in the lab is not for student use. Give us your CPCC ID card to check out materials. Entertainment videos and dvds may be checked out for 3 nights. Your CPCC printing account will count pages printed. For more pages, you will see the cashier in the Central High Building and purchase additional printing.
11
Lab facilitators fluent in English are on duty at certain times and will help you. Ask for help! Facilitators are needed by many students, so their time must be shared.
12
Lab facilitators also must make sure that students follow the rules and policies. Students who do not follow the rules will be asked to leave the Lab and may permanently lose lab privileges.
13
Student assignment suggestions and resource/reference ideas are on the Lab website. Click on Lab Assignments reference and then on the name of your course. Instructors will also give you special lab assignments.
14
Students may view or work with other videos, dvds or print materials available in the lab. Helpful ESL internet sites are also saved for you on the Lab website. See our Resource Book (Central Campus) or go to our lab Website for a list of our resources.
