51 Other ways to acquire ebooks through YBP Integrated Digital and Print Approval Plans e Notification Plans Demand Driven Acquisitions Subscriptions
52
52 Enjoy the benefit of a single digital and print approval plan, including comprehensive duplication control among all versions of a title. New plan highlights: Integrated digital and print approval plans provide libraries with titles in a timely manner, based on the first available format (electronic or print). YBP offers four types of digital and print approval plans, customized to each library’s specifications—e-preferred, print-preferred, e-only and print-only—and supplies the preferred version of a title. GOBI offers a digital approval bookshelf where customers can coordinate ebooks with their print approval plans and manage ebooks that match their library profiles. Within the bookshelf libraries can: Direct YBP to deliver the ebooks Hold ebooks for future consideration Change titles to another provider before delivery Remove ebooks from the bookshelf prior to invoicing YBP cataloging records are available, supplied at the same time as the ebooks and customized to your specifications. Integrated Digital and Print Approval Plan
53
53 E Notification Plans Each week library can receive notifications of new profiled titles that match library profile. Library can specify to receive notifications for all suppliers or specific suppliers of ebooks In GOBI library will see all versions of title (e and p) and library history associated with title. YBP eBook catalog records available for titles ordered.

54 DDA for ebooks presents your patrons with a database of appropriate titles that may be browsed, loaned or purchased – “the Consideration Pool” Demand Driven Acquisitions through YBP Key Features: Integration with existing approval and slip profiles Database of appropriate titles Manual DDA Customized YBP discovery and cataloging records Multiple usage options Free browse period Short-term loans Purchases Electronic invoicing for purchased titles Duplication control with other YBP purchases DDA status in GOBI Acquisition workflow support

55 Subscription collections YBP offers libraries the ability to purchase ebrary Subscription Collections through YBP. Subscription Collections include Academic Complete, College Collection and subject specific collections. Subscription collections are a great way to get started with ebooks, a lot of books for little cost to the library. Subscription collections are not “owned” by the library.
56
56 Notification of Access A new service which alerts customers that they now have access to the ebooks they have ordered through YBP. YBP will send email alerts to customers each day based on their ebook activity. Customers will receive a separate email for each supplier that has acknowledged a completed order or orders that day. The email will contain the title and URL for each order.
57
57 YBP Cataloging Service YBP provides cataloging support for any eBooks ordered and invoiced as individual titles on a designated eBook subaccount. eBook cataloging records conform to the Program for Cooperative Cataloging (PCC’s) MARC Record Guide for Monograph Aggregator Vendors (see guidelines at http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/sca/FinalVendorGuide.pdf). In addition, these records contain site-specific URLs and other local customization. http://www.loc.gov/catdir/pcc/sca/FinalVendorGuide.pdf In most cases, YBP eBook cataloging records are derived from records for the print format. If no print record is available, a brief machine-generated record can be sent as placeholder. Customers have the option of receiving that initial machine-generated record or not. A Provisional+ cataloging record will be delivered subsequently, typically in less than 5 days, at no additional cost. Provisional+ records include LC Classification and Book Numbers and, when appropriate, at least one LC subject heading. Subject analysis and description are performed by professional catalogers and adhere to national and international standards. Book numbers for LC classed titles are assigned in accordance with LC shelf-listing practices.
