4 Noise Level 1 1. Monday 1. Think about two characters that might be talking to each other. One could be telling a joke to the other. Maybe they are talking on the phone about what they did over the weekend. Use the organizer to decide on the characters and what they are talking about. 2. Tuesday 1. Write a dialogue between the two characters. Start a new paragraph each time a new character speaks. Be sure to use quotation marks around what the people are saying. Use lively words to make the characters interesting. 3. Wednesday 1. Continue writing the conversation that your two characters are having. 4. Thursday 1. Edit your writing. Do the characters’ words show what they are like. Did you vary your sentences? Would this sound interesting if you read it aloud? Read it to a partner. 5. Friday 1. Complete the final draft of your dialogue writing.
