4 RELATED ARTS Band and Chorus ( Every other day-year ) General Music (Every other day-Semester) Technology Ed. (Every day – Marking Period) Art (Every day – Marking Period) Health/PE (Every other day-year) College & Career Readiness (Every other day- Semester) Library Research (Every other day-Semester) Exploring Spanish (Every other day – Semester)

5 LUNCH Students will have a half hour for lunch. Students will sit by homeroom All sixth graders eat together. Meal Plan – account is the same as elementary school. A la carte items sold separately.

6 RESOURCE Period Purpose is to extend learning or offer remediation. Students can make up work. Library is available. Students can meet with teachers to ask questions about assignments.

9 Grading System Grading Scale 100 - 90% = A 89 – 80% = B 79 – 70% = C 69 – 60% = D 60% or below = F

11 CYBER CLASSES Opportunity for students to take one or more courses in a cyber environment while also taking other classes in a traditional classroom setting Increased opportunities for enrichment, acceleration and remediation

12 CHARACTERISTICS OF A CYBER LEARNER Self-Motivated and Self-Disciplined Learner Internal Locus of Control (Believes they can be successful) Able to communicate through writing Experienced working on a computer Visual Learner Critical Thinker Prefer to learn on a computer

23 NURSE Physical Exam required for entering 6 th Grade students (best to wait until after June 1 if possible) Make sure immunizations are current Medication during school requires a “Permission to Administer Medication” form Update INFOSNAP Please let Mrs. Kemp know if your child has an medical needs or concerns

24 SUPPLIES Pencil pouch (soft-sided with 3 holes) Calculator (TI30xIIS) Earbuds or earphones Box of sharpened pencils Colored pencils-1 pack Highlighters(2) Post-it notes Glue stick Extra pencil erasers Sturdy Draw String

25 SUPPLIES (CONTINUED) Hand-held pencil sharpener Lined notebook paper Dry erase markers(4 pack thick) Would like the following for organization: Five (5) Single subject spiral notebooks (with holes)— 1 for each core subject Five (5) Pocket Folders/portfolios (with holes)— assorted colors Two (2) 2” binder with interior pockets for team materials/homework If possible…tissues and disinfectant wipes for class
