Why Road Safety and pedestrian issue? - India has the highest number of accidents in the world, - Chennai 4 th highest in number of accidents after Mumbai, Delhi & Bangalore - Chennai 3 rd highest in number of people killed in road accidents after Delhi. - Chennai topped the charts from 2005-2007 and has 3rd highest number of accidents in 2010. No traffic Signals, Zebra Crossing & Pedestrian Crossings. Increasing Accidents and Traffic Snarls. Deteriorating Sidewalks/ Pavements. Multiple junctions/ crossing.
