5 Special Awareness camps by Bank branches
Special Preference to all unbanked areas of the district. Covered 1250 Gram panchayats through 536 Camps by 280 Bank Branches Delivered not only awareness regarding PMJDY but emphasised also on Financial Literacy so that best use of PMJDY accounts can be done. Deliverables includes On the spot Account opening Accidental Insurance scheme (ACI) Financial Literacy Financial Planning Awareness about RuPay Card Importance of insurance, Saving & micro investment i.e. small amount RD. On the spot RuPay Card distribution More than 4.5 lakh Housholds have been covered through these camps Still running

7 Special Village Drives by Bank Branches
Total 72 drives from Aug-14 to March 15 Branch wise identification of village clusters having villages from 5-10 At least one drive from each village cluster. Each Camp is linked with one Nodal bank Branch. These drives were specially designed with following objectives. Specific awareness regarding Accidental Insurance Scheme (AIS) Why RuPay Card ? Benefits associated with it. Knowledge regarding ATM transactions The eligibility part of AIS Use of RuPay debit Card Safer & smooth use of RuPay Card Door-to-door approach With the help of PRI, Department field staff went door to door for providing information of camps Filling of PMJDY a/c opening form right there and Kit distribution in the camp. Ensuring presence of at least one member of every house.

9 Involvement of District Administration, Line department & PRIs
In every Camp, involvement of the Gram Pradhan was made sure. It helped forwarding message to maximum people. In all GoUP program meetings i.e. JSY, Poshan Mission, Asha & ANM Meetings, NRLM, Lohia Gram Meetings, it was emphasized to get accounts opened under PMJDY of all unbanked people. ANM & ASHA Women Workers went door to door and also propagated the message of opening of account under PMJDY. All ANM workers have been provided Bank Account forms and they got it filled on the spot and submitted to concerned branch/Bank Mitra. District Officials participated in the programs/camps and covinced people to take maximum advantage of PMJDY/AIS

10 NABARD Support for PMJDY/AIS
Not only the adults but to spread awareness for PMJDY/AIS among school children NABARD conducted 20 FI quiz among various schools in consultation with District Education Department. First, schools were selected on the basis of internal competition among themselves. Schools were identified with the help of Education Department. Information was sent to all Gram Pradhans of concerned area where school is situated. In quiz mode, 10,000 school children were made aware regarding PMJDY, Financial Literacy & Financial Planning. They were comprehensively educated about Use of Rupay Card , its benefit & Technological aspects. NABARD FIF Support under PMJDY 52 Special camps were supported by NABARD for Financial Literacy, PMJDY & AIS to ISMW Reading material on Finanical Planning & Litreacy had been distributed . NABARD sponsored training batches of total 400 Bank Mitras of KGSGB. Mass awareness through WSHGs In GLTPs organize for WSHGs members , special emphasis has been provided to PMJDY Individual account opening of 3000 Members was done under PMJDY Mass awareness through Farmers club Through FCs , queries related to AIS its aspects, were answered. Every member of FC forwarded the awareness & knowledge inputs to other inhabitants of the villages/farmers.

11 Complete Involvement of all Rural Development Institutions , RSETI,Union Bank Social Foundation, DRDA. Rural development Institution like RSETI, UBI Social Foundation , DRDA all participated intensively in the PMJDY campaign. RSETI provided PMJDY specific module/inputs in each batch of trainee & oriented BCs for PMJDY. RSETI conducted training batches of Bank Mitras and provided comprehensive skills specific to PMJDY. RSETI facilitated opening of bank accounts of most of the trainees under PMJDY. RSETI facilitated opening of bank accounts of Jail Inmates under PMJDY through special training program Sensitization of PRI representatives through special involvement of Gram Pradhan.

12 Mass Awareness through FLC/FLCC
In district ,one FLC ( Financial Literacy center) is run by UBI(Lead bank) & one FLCC ( Financial literacy counselling center) is run by KGSGB. They have conducted a total of 208 camps ( 8 camps each per month) for the purpose of creation of awareness for PMJDY, Accidental insurance Scheme, PMSBY & PMJJBY. These camps have been conducted in remote areas of the districts and benefitted approx. 15,000 rural households. Along with camps FLC provided desk counselling support through toll free number & personal counselling.

13 Panel discussion/Use of Mass Media
A Panel discussion was organized with Govt. Officials, Line department and bank officials for better understanding of the programs. Through Panel discussion it was come into picture that PMJDY could be a effective tool in proper and smooth implementation if many schemes. AIS is a very effective tool for providing social security to the beneficiaries. Mass media has been proved a very effective tool in popularizing in AIS and PMJDY scheme. After reading news regarding AIS, people themselves started asking for it.

14 Efforts done for Rupay Card activation
By innovative method of involving of Bank Mitras in Rupay Card activation. By Providing more accessibility points Installing at least one ATM per branch Generation of 548 accessibility points in the forms of Bank Mitra (BC) through Handheld devices & static set-up, which caters 1700 villages. Speeding awareness and activation through Mobile ATM Van which covered villages. Special focus on RuPay Card activation within 90 days for availing AIS facility, in all awareness camps. Spreading awareness among members of WSHGs, Farmers Clubs, Producer Organization supported by NABARD , Bhumi Sudhar Nigam, NRLM etc. Better use of Branch as “Promotion Center”.

15 Involvement of Bank Mitras in RuPay card activation
A list OF inactivated RuPay card was provided to Bank Mitras by the concerned branch of PMJDY holders. Since they earn Percentage amount on each transaction, they started contacting PMJDY account holders for activation of RuPay Card. Most of the Bank Mitra carry hand held devices , hence door step banking was made available for the people. Since Bank Mitras are trained people hence they provide complete hand holding support to the customers and first time users. They encouraged them to regularly use their RuPay card and PMJDY accounts for other benefits associated with it.

16 By providing more accessibility Points
Since the activation of RuPay card is very crucial point hence providing more accessibility points, where customers can use their card like ATM, Hand held POS, static BC points., BC Provided ATM has yielded better results. All branches have installed at least one ATM with them. In the districta all 548 Bank Mitras are equipped with Aadhar Enabled PoS. and providing service to large chunk of people. Following vendors are providing BC service in the district with 5 modes Fino paytech Sahaj e village Vakrangi One BC is catering to 3-5 Villages, the average daily transaction is 8.1 per BC.

17 Speeding awareness and activation through Mobile ATM Van which covered 1175 villages.
It is a portable mobile ATM by Union Bank OF India i.e. Lead bank, Fixed in a Van & connected to Network. It has covered 1175 villages so far in the district through various routes. ATM Mobile Van is very helpful in the areas where ATM service is not easily accessible or connectivity is an issue. It is linked to one parent Bank Branch but caters all blocks of the district as per schedule devised. It is very popular among the rural people. An officer goes along with Mobile van so if any query/handholding support/information is needed, he provides.

18 Spreading awareness among members of WSHGs, Farmers Clubs, Producer Organization supported by NABARD , Bhumi Sudhar Nigam, NRLM etc. WSHG, Farmers club & farmers producer organization play a very crucial role in spreading the information. Since every member is a part of a separate family hence catering one member leads to cratering 3-4 more people or one whole family. Since they are connected to some scheme/project already hence they do not hesitate in adopting new things. Approx 2000 SHGs formed under various schemes by NABARD, NRLM, Bhumi Sudhar Nigam were sensitized about RuPay card activation through special sensitization programs. Farmers Producers organization supported by NABARD & Bhumi Sudhar Nigam were also sensitized about RuPay Card Activation.

19 Bank Mitras in terms of availability, Proper device use and daily transactions.
One Bank Mitra on every 5 Villages Caters all unbanked areas of the district. Inclusion of more service providers i.e. Fino, Vakrangi & Sahaj or banks owned BCs Average monthly availability of all BC is days/month In terms of Proper Device use Every bank Mitra equipped with hand held terminals or computer/laptop/bio- metric. All bank Mitras have been trained by concerned banks/RSETI. Special NABARD sponsored training batches of BC for KGSGB. In terms of daily transactions average 4384 transactions/day Average Amount transacted ` 8 Lakh/day.

21 Proper device use Intensive Training to Bank Mitra IIBF certification.
All Bank Mitra have been provided intensive training through RSETI, Service Provider for the proper use of hand held/static devices. This training includes proper operation of the equipment, basic maintenance, dealing with basic faults, change of paper roll etc. They are made completely familiar with the technical & security aspects of the machine. IIBF certification. Now Bank Mitras have to clear IIBF certification exams in order to become Bank Mitra and this exams tests the skill associated with proper device knowledge too. Regular capacity Building With the enhancement of technology , they are being equipped with compatible knowledge of devices so they can use best.

22 Proper device use Earlier BC model was just FI oriented in which a Service Provider smart card was used at PoS with PIN. In later stages PoS were connected to Aadhar Enabled Transaction system i.e. if account is linked with Aadhar Card, person can withdraw the amount just by entering Adhar no. In the system and and its card PIN. No need of Physical card. In more further Stage PoS were made compatible to RuPay card i.e. now any person who has RuPay card, can transact through these PoS belonging to a specifc bank. Now Static Model of BC is in use which is considered more trust worthy because of its static position. More facility Passbook Printing and higher transaction limits of upto 10,000/day. In the district Jaunpur , Static BC models are being equipped with RuPay enabled ATM machines which has been installed by the service provider at 5 places hence now BC turns into Satelite Branch.

Motivating people by Bank Mitras in Mission Mode All Bank Mitras were provided detailed list of Zero balance Accounts and they started roaming door to door to motivate the people to start through PMJDY. They spread the benefits associated with proper transactions in PMJDY accounts moreover benefits associated with saving and financial planning also. At the time of providing RuPay card they emphasise for deposit & insurance scheme cover. Popularizing benefits of Insurance schemes by Branch managers PMSBY, PMJJBY schemes were made popular among customers by Branch Managers They were told to keep amount in the a/c for the purpose of auto debit. People started using their PMJDY for once and than regularly.

28 Regular Savings Drives under PMJDY by all 280 Branches.
It was emphasized in every PMJDY camp to transact with the PMJDY a/c in order to become eligible for the Overdraft facility. Regular Savings Drives under PMJDY by all 280 Branches. Development of habit of saving among the account holders of PMJDY. Linking with Credit scheme and transfer the amount into PMJDY a/c. Efforts done by PRI Gram Pradhans were intensively involved in spreading the benefits associated with using PMJDY account They discussed the benefits of regular use PMJDY account with maximum people. ASHA Works, ANM works all were involved for providing hand holding support and popularize the scheme.

29 Zero balance amount reduction for women
Involving ASHA & ANM workers All ASHA & ANM workers went door to door for promoting the importance of regular use of PMJDY accounts. With the help of Branch officials they were provided the inputs on various aspects associated with Jan- Dhan Scheme. Since they have the strongest presence in the rural areas, a feeling of trust comes and women started using their PMJDY accounts. Motivating people by Bank Mitras in Mission Mode All Bank Mitras were provided list of details Zero balance Accounts and they started roaming door to door to motivate the people to start through PMJDY. They spread the benefits associated with proper transactions in PMJDY accounts moreover benefits associated with saving and financial planning also.

30 Integration with women Oriented Social development Scheme/Missions
Janni Suraksha Yozna (7874) NRLM (1100) WSHG ( 3000) Women farmers under KCC Special drive by ISMW ( Indian School for micro finance for Women) ISMW conducted 20 special camps in the region for the specific target of Women PMJDY account holders They provided comprehensive inputs on A/c operation in PMJDY, RuPay Card use, Accidental Insurance scheme (ACI) They educated Women about PMJDY, Financial Literacy, Financial Planning, Balancing between saving & expenditure, Efficient use of PMJDY account through regular saving.

31 Efforts in implementing in difficult Geographical terrain and BPL Numbers
Opening of 41 Bank Branches : A total of 41 bank branches were opened in unbanked areas of the district most of them were in remote areas of the district. With integration to the GoUP programs, concerned officials emphasized to open the account under PMJDY for BPL beneficiaries. BDO/ADOs were sensitized to get account opened under PMJDY. Through WSHGs , 3000 individual a/c were opened under PMJDY. Through Women Milk Producer groups : Swyam Ksheer Milk Producer company women member have got their a/c opened PMJDY. Through Community involvement Through integration with Non Government Organizations Through Special camps More emphasis on BC opening in difficult terrain on the basis of accessibility.

32 No. of Aadhar Seedings and effort done
Capacity building of Bank Mitras has been done for the purpose of Adhar Seeding. Bank Mitra & Branch managers have been instructed to do Aadhar seeding in Mission Mode Now the PoS are coming with Aadhar enabled feature hence linking of Aadhar card with account becomes compulsory . Bank Mitras are being encouraged to do aadhar seeding of maximum people. More Bank Mitras are being taken into the system. Aadhar enabled transaction system is getting popularity in the rural areas.

33 PMJDY: A tool for every one
It was found that PMJDY is not just helpful for those who are unbanked but also very helpful to those who have bank account but less knowledge about banking. It generates habit of saving among the people. It is vey helpful for institutional link up of the schemes. A total of Accounts associated with different social scheme i.e. JSY, Pension Yojna, Indira awas, DBT, Scholarship etc. have been opened with PMJDY. Now the opening of bank accounts is easier simple and faster for the beneficiaries because one facility of Zero balance account is already available. After opening of bank a/c , many people started saving in it and when they found that it is good for them , they associated with some livelihood activities and finally started generating income. Approx 1.75 lakh people came under the umbrealla of Social Security through Various Bima Yojnas.

34 Suggestions for Improvement
It was found that Bank Mitras are the very crucial link in this whole exercise so emphasis should be given to increase the number of Bank Mitras. All Bank Mitras should be equipped with latest machine & technology. The remuneration part of Bank Mitra should be taken care of. Banks should invest more in technology deployment. In the case of static Bank Mitra Points, one ATM must be installed. PMJDY should not be kept in isolation, it should be linked with the other schemes of central Government/State government. Strengthening of Monitoring mechanism should be done. Banks should take Aadhar seeding and Ruapy card activation in mission mode. They must use the Bank Mitra with maximum extant. PMJDY should be linked with specific livelihood or employment activity.

43 Success Story : Shri Laxmi Shankar yadav
Laxmi Shankar Yadav, a resident of Village Jamaitha dist. Jaunpur, has 5 member in the family. He did not have any bank account and income was not regular. He opened his bank account in UBI Vikas Bhawan Branch and started saving. He realized that having a bank account is very important. He has been provided all inputs from FLC & RSETI. He also realized that he could not save money earlier because he did not have bank account before. With his savings he opened one Photocopy shop which starts giving more and regular income. He was further connected to other facilities like ATM, Insurance, fund transfer etc. He is now beneficiary of Bima Suraksha Yojna too. His life was changed just because of one saving account of PMJDY. Many people are like him who got right direction only after opening of their saving account.
