12 Some Helpful Tips from Page 7 to finding your passion (major/job interest) 1)Admit what really interests them 2)Pinpoint their aspirations 3)Discover that there are many different/diverse/types of jobs that are related to their major 4)Grasp the fear and take that step towards their future anyway. Patrick Combs does a great job in his book “Major in Success” breaking down the fundamentals to becoming successful in college. Chapter 1-3 really emphasize choosing a career path that you are passionate about, and he continues to mention helpful tips for resumes and internships for future job interests in chapters 9,16, and 19. “Don’t even think of not doing an internship or co-op in college, “ (116). I wish I had known the info earlier presented in chapter 5 “Money Matters” before picking a career direction– it is about how much certain jobs make per year [chart + salaries] $$$ The “Hot Tips” spread throughout Combs book are REALLY helpful resources!! (informative websites, surveys & jobs)
