Tunnel installation - NCFE 8 Shielding wall is installed in place of the DTL-5 to allow parallel work in SC Linac section ISRC & LEBT – Installation/assembly in the tunnel 2 weeks – Beam commissioning 13 weeks – LEBT dismantling 1 m upstream the RFQ (for bead-pull); need to re-assemble before the RFQ beam commissioning! RFQ – Assembly & tuning 2 weeks – RF conditioning 15 weeks MEBT – Installation/assembly in tunnel 4 weeks during the RFQ conditioning window – need to interrupt the RFQ conditioning – Pre-assemble MEBT sections to minimize time spent in tunnel! ISRC to MEBT beam commissioning 12 weeks DTL – Tanks 3&4 installation 2 weeks in parallel to LEBT partial dismantling – Tanks 3&4 RF conditioning 2 weeks in parallel with the RFQ conditioning – Tank 1 installation 2 weeks – Tank 1 RF conditioning 2 weeks ISRC to DTL-1 beam commissioning 5 weeks DTL – Tank 2 installation 2 weeks – Tank 2 RF conditioning 2 weeks ISRC to DTL-4 beam commissioning 5 weeks Shielding wall dismantling 1-2 weeks DTL – Tank 5 installation 2 weeks – Tank 5 RF conditioning 2 weeks The rest of the accelerator is already installed and cooled down Cold hardware commissioning ISRC to Dump beam commissioning Beam to target
