8 A COMPLETE END TO END IT PORTFOLIO
This strategic approach sets us apart from every other technology company in the world. I mentioned the IBM x86 and Motorola Mobility deals earlier… We are the only company in the world that offers everything from “the data center to the pants pocket.” (mobile to PCs/desktops to server/workstation and storage, also a growing cloud services business.) By contrast, one of our largest competitors is breaking up into separate. We believe this unique end-to-end capability differentiates Lenovo and makes us a better solution provider for our partners and customers… Every 400 Smart Phones… …Require One Server + Storage * data source: Intel

9 “Gartner Verifies Our IT Leadership
2014 “Lenovo is a leading option for organizations requiring global PC deployments, and a strong, viable supplier for all business notebook and desktop requirements” 2006 2011 “Lenovo still invests heavily in product innovation, while keeping prices highly competitive. ” ABILITY TO EXECUTE Magic Quadrant for Global Enterprise Desktops and Notebooks COMPLETENESS OF VISION As of November 2014

10 From Smart Phone to Server, We Invest Heavily In Innovation
MAJOR RESEARCH CENTERS IN RALEIGH, YOKOHAMA, BRAZIL, BEIJING, SHANGHAI, SHENZHEN 9 $730M R&D IN FY 2013/14 62% INCREASE SINCE FY 2011/12 INVESTMENT IN SERVER, TABLET, SMARTPHONE, AND CLOUD R&D FACILITIES $900M 26K MOBILE TECHNOLOGY PATENTS AQUIRED OR LICENSED IN 2014 Tags: Lenovo Live, bp hosted, Customer Handout, Insight, BP Tier 2 The Enterprise Business Group (EBG) campus in RTP, NC has 180,000 sq feet of server development and testing labs, and 1100 racks supporting over 35,000 servers. Lenovo signed a memorandum of understanding with Cyberport in Hong Kong to run an R&D center to focus on “big data” and “enterprise-level cloud services infrastructure platform\\.   Mobile technology patents acquired in 2014: 2000 from Motorola from NEC from Unwired Planet = ~6000 Patents. Lenovo also has royalty-free access to 20K additional Motorola patents that Google retained. Lenovo has acquired industry-leading sensor technology. Lenovo acquired Palios corporation, a leader in Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS). Lenovo has agreed to purchase a portfolio of patents from NEC Corporation. The portfolio consists of more than 3,800 patent families filed in numerous countries around the world. The portfolio includes standard essential patents for 3G and LTE mobile technologies as well as patents that cover a broad range of features and technologies used in many of today’s most advanced mobile products such as smartphones. Lenovo will continue to acquire additional intellectual property assets both through its own innovation and engineering, as well as from external sources to support its rapidly expanding PC Plus business that includes mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. Lenovo expanded its intellectual property (IP) portfolio this week with an announcement to acquire 21 familes of patents, totaling 110 in all, from Unwired Planet. This is sensible solidification of IP as the company moves more and more into mobile markets around the world. It will serve strategic purpose as Lenovo continues to grown and develop at a PC+ leader. The patent purchase consists of 21 patent families owned by Unwired Planet, including patents for 3G and LTE mobile technologies and other important mobility patents.

12 Leadership With A Broad, Innovation Driven Portfolio
Tags: Lenovo Live, BP Hosted, Customer Handout, PST, Insight, BP Tier 2 In addition to servers, Lenovo continues to offer a broad innovation packed portfolio of client devices. Devices that end users as well as IT departments love. Devices that continue to maintain our reputation for high quality, ruggedness and durability. Attributes that have become synonymous with the Think product brand name. You’ll also find a lot of innovation in our offerings in terms of form factor design. Ranging from our business optimized tablets and 2-in-1 devices, like our new Helix 2, to our X1 Carbon – the world’s thinnest and lightest 14” business ultrabook, to exciting products that break the mold of what consumer desktops and tablets look like and the ways that they can be used. Our ThinkCentre Tiny product family, is a great example of how we took a device form factor…. the traditional desktop…. which has basically been a big rectangular box for the last 30 years… and we altered it dramatically, by creating a full-function desktop in a miniscule 1 liter size. That took a tremendous amount of engineering. But, over the last 2 and a half years, we’ve grown our Tiny desktop product into a complete family of desktops, ranging from an Atom Baytrail processor based system all the way up to a Core i7. Some of these models can even support as many as 4 displays. Tiny offers many other advantages. For instance, one of our health care customers in Puerto Rico told me that their deployment of Tiny desktops paid for itself in just one year from the energy cost savings. Another customer said to me, “you have no idea how much this is going to save me on shipping costs.” And yet another customer expressed how Tiny simplified their deployment process because of their limited amount of storage space for their PC inventory. In a moment, I’m going to share an additional way that Tiny can help you simplify and reduce the cost of your desktop deployments. Lenovo also produces some amazing consumer devices. Although primarily targeted at consumers, I’ve spoken with customers who’ve found some powerful uses for products like our 27” Horizon Table PC. In an upright position, it’s a Windows 8 AIO personal computer. When you lay it down flat it becomes an interpersonal computer that enables several people to interact by playing games together or even simultaneously browsing different types of media. But I’ve also spoken to several customers who are using them as portable blue print readers. One municipal government customer told me they used to spend over a $1000 every time they had to print off updates to their blueprints before a project meeting. Now they just carry a Horizon with them. It even comes with a battery, making it even more convenient to haul around. We’ve also innovated in another area that’s almost become boring. Android tablets. Instead of producing just another same old thin rectangular tablet, last year we came out with the Yoga 8 and 10 tablets, featuring a tube style battery that provides 18 hours of usage time. It also features a built in kick stand to make it more comfortable to watch videos, and you can put it into tilt mode to read books and browse the web. And if you think this is pretty cool, wait until you hear about our new Yoga Tablet 2 Pro that I’ll tell you more about towards the end of my presentation. Now, of course, we also have a wide assortment of accessories, as well as some great services to help you increase your efficiency and reduce costs of your IT operations. If you are interested, we can even do a white boarding session with you to determine where Lenovo can be of the greatest benefit to you in the services area. Since the emphasis of today’s event is on servers, we’ll just spend about half an looking at some of our latest and most exciting client device offerings.
