Content and Materials Fill out agency information Check any Special Award considerations your agency is applying for By completing the NLEC application, your agency is automatically considered for the Speed Awareness, Impaired Driving, and Occupant Protection Special Awards If your State/Local Issue is one of the other seven options, check the appropriate box

Creating an Application Three sections: 1.Narratives 2.Attachments – Naming Convention: agencyname_city_state_sectionname 3.Submission Disclosure Questions

Written Narrative Applicants must fill out a narrative summary of their agency’s year-round activities in each category Summaries should be no less than 500 characters and no more than 2,000 Every letter, number, symbol, and space is a character

Attachments A qualitative summary for each of the following sections: Problem Identification, Planning, Training, Public Information & Education (PI&E), Enforcement, and Outcomes Your application should have two attachments per category: The specific policies that drove your enforcement for each category

Submission Disclosure Questions In the Content & Materials PDF, agencies will have to answer quantitative questions regarding their activities for each section
