It is observed that additional costs for special purpose instrumentation, IT tools and communication devices, is in tune of 1 to 3% of total project cost and benefits are multi-fold in terms of savings in operational costs, system performance efficiency improvements, satisfaction of consumer and water resource managers, policy makers and experts with ease of data availability and timely decision making and its implementation.
