A drought is when there is barely any water or rainfall and when the weather is dry and the land becomes almost plantless.
3
Draughts usually happen when the balance between the amount of rain is changed.

1. Australia 1982-1983 2. China 1876-1879between 9.5 million and 13 million 3. the great plains 1930s
5
A draught happens closer at the equator because its hot and humid there. Also if the people use to much water the earth may not be able to produce more.
6
In 1876-1878 not a drop of rain fell. People ate all their animals. People also ate trees and some were so desperate the became into cannibals and murdered and ate each other people. Animals were also desperate they killed and ate people at night. Almost 9.5 and 13 million people died.
7
How is the area looking now? How or what are they doing to prepare/prevent this from happening again?
8
For preparation they; repair dripping faucets and check all plumbing. They also install things such as: aerators for faucets and an instant hot water heater on their sinks. There is not a way to prevent a Drought. Although we can monitor in disasters of Drought such as water levels, soil moisture, rain fall and weather patterns, we can’t predict when or how severe they’re going to be.
9
Droughts are really bad because they can stop plant growth and pretty much break the food chain. There are 4 types of droughts unpredictable, permanent, seasonal, and invisible draughts.
