1 Left Brain-Right Brain Test Objective: Students will complete a test to determine whether they are a right-brain or left-brain person.

4 Instructions Please number a piece of paper from 1-32. You will have to listen carefully to each statement. If the statement applies to you, put an X on your paper next to that statement’s number. After we have read through all the statements, we will determine if it is a left brain characteristic or a right brain characteristic. We will add up the results at the end and see where you fit.

5 Here we go… 1. I frequently look at a clock or wear a watch. 2. I keep a journal or diary of my thoughts. 3. I believe there is either a right or wrong way to do everything. 4. I find it hard to follow directions exactly how they are given to me. 5. The expression “Life is like a bowl of cherries” makes sense to me.

6 Continuing… 6. I frequently change my plans and find sticking to a schedule boring. 7. I think it is easier to draw a map than to tell someone how to get somewhere. 8. To find a lost item, I try to picture in my head where I saw it last. 9. I frequently follow my emotions. 10. Math is easy for me.

7 Continuing… 11. I read the directions before assembling something. 12. I am often late. 13. People have told me that I am psychic. 14. I need to set goals for myself to stay on task. 15. When someone asks me a question, I turn my head to the left.

8 Continuing… 16. If I have a tough decision to make, I make a list of the pros and cons. 17. I would make a good detective. 18. I learn to read and play music easily. 19. To solve a problem, I think of similar problems I have solved in the past. 20. I use a lot of gestures when I communicate.

9 Continuing… 21. If someone asks me a question, I turn my head to the right. 22. I believe there are two ways to look at almost everything. 23. I have the ability to tell if people are lying or guilty of something just be looking at them. 24. I keep a “to do list”. 25. I am able to explain my opinions in words.

10 Continuing… 26. In an argument, I am able to keep my emotions in check and listen to the facts before forming my opinion. 27. I have considered becoming a poet, rapper, politician, architect, or a dancer. 28. I always lose track of time. 29. When trying to remember a name I forgot, I recite the alphabet until I remember it.

11 Continuing… 30. I like to draw (it doesn’t mean you are good at it) 31. When I am confused about a decision, I go with what my gut tells me. 32. I have considered becoming a lawyer, journalist, or a doctor (including a veterinarian).
